TBL - 3:53 Marathon is a LIE

I caught the ending of The Biggest Loser the other night and saw that one of the guys on there eventually ran a Marathon with a time of 3 hours and 53 minutes. That is just plain impressive! A little too impressive. I thought about looking into it, but thankfully, the internet communittee have done that already - http://blogs.kansascity.com/tvbarn/2009/02/the-biggest-los.html
Read up! The guy didn't even run the whole course and it took him more than the 3:53 mentioned on the show. Well, I could go on, but the comments on that site covers of what I am feeling. Sigh, just another reason why I stopped watching reality shows.

Internet Stalking

So I'm part of my 10 year high school reunion committee. I should be using my internet stalking skills to find all 300+ people from my class and get them informed about our site and our reunion in August. Well, I'm not. I don't want to have some internet stalking relapse. Yes, I stalked a few people on the internet a few years ago, of course this was before myspace and facebook, so finding information on people was toughter back then.
...
...
Ok, I did find some information on a certain someone that I shouldn't be even looking up. Umm, yeah. Must use net stalking skills for good.

Mistakes

There is a saying out there,
"If I could do it again
I'd make more mistakes"
I need to make more mistakes. Take chances. That is one of the reasons I moved and stayed up in the Seattle area. Thinking back though, I haven't made and stupid mistakes or chances since probably November 06. Thinking back about it, yeah it was stupid - as much as I like to blame alcohol for the evening romp, I should have thought better. Yes, it was stupid and yes, it wasn't my best decision, but, who cares! Well, I've made a few smaller mistakes. I've taken a few more chances, but still, I need more. Must make more mistake.

Update - Watched Scrubs tonight and it is a little interesting that they had an episode about taking chances.

I want to believe

Do you believe in fate? I sometimes believe that there is a greater force out there that guides us, but it is up to us and our decesions to finalize where we end up. Kind of like street signs, they'll guide you, but you can control to go left, right or straight ahead and occasionally, back.

Anyway, I feel like fate messed up. It's like I met this person, but maybe we should never have met. Fate have stepped in numerous times to counter this meeting. Sure, I'll try and fight it, but just before I am ready to give up and just go our separate ways, something happens or something is said that makes me think, "yes, this was meant to be".

Sigh, I don't know. Why do I have all these mixed emotions and thoughts? It is as if I am a teenager again. As long as I don't start shaving my hair again, I think I'll be ok. But still, too many thoughts on my mind.

...

Did you ever see those optical illusions? It'll be some image, you'll think it's one thing while another person will see a different image? I think I'm just looking for something for me. Everyone sees the truth, while I my perception looks for the little things that will support my.. thinking? My hope and dreams? I think I'm in denial. Am I in denial? Over what?

Huntington Beach Weekend

My roommate drives me to the airport at 5 am. I buy overpriced breakfast at the airport. I get on my plane, Southwest, and head south. We stop at Sacramento first. I read some of my book (I lost my love in Baghdad). I continue on to Orange County airport. The book I read gets sad. I have trouble finishing the book. I shed a few tears. I need a freezer. I finish the book. I land in Orange County. I pick up my rental car. I drive to Huntington Beach. It is nice and sunny. I go and eat at Arby's. I drive around Huntington Beach. I drive past where the expo will be held in a few hours. I drive the course of the race. I continue past the course. I end up in Los Angeles. Some guy in an SUV scream some profanities at me. I keep driving. I'm not sure where I am. I turn around and use the GPS to get back. I get back to HB. The expo has started. I go in and pick up my packet. I end up buying another pair of running shoes. I check out the beach. I drive to my hotel. I check in to my hotel. My room is hot. I kill time by checking my email and stocks. I change into some running gear. I take a quick run in the surrounding area. I get back to my hotel. I go eat Subway. Its dark, I contemplate of watching a movie. I missed the movie. I watch Cartoons instead. I leave the hotel. I go pick up Bri and her mom at Long Beach airport. I take a wrong turn. I drive them to their hotel. We go to the store to pick up some food. I go back to my hotel for sleep.

DAY 2

I sleep in. I wake up and shower. I meet Bri and her mom for brunch. I'm late. It's another warm sunny day. I go to the Expo with Bri and her mom. They pick up their packets. I check out more of the merchandises. I go bck to the car. I drive around some more. I go back to my hotel. I start reading my other book (A Sport and a Pastime). I take a nap. I meet Bri, her mom, her aunt, and her friend Jon for dinner. We choose the Mac Grill. I walk to the restaurant. I think the restaurant is close. I'm wrong. We have big pasta meals. We check out some stores nearby. I'm dropped off at my hotel. I spent the evening picking out what to wear for the run tomorrow. I choose the orange shirt, black shorts, white visor and Junga II. I try to stay hydrated. I pace back and forth. I read more of the new book. I watch more Cartoons. I pack up my stuff except for what I need for the race. I play some sodoku. I pace some more. I finally get to bed to sleep.

DAY 3

I wake up and take a shower. I have oatmeal and a banana for breakfast. I'm dehydrated. I start drinking. I text Bri. I keep drinking. I grab all my stuff. I take a quick look around the room. I have everything. I go to the car to load my stuff. I got back to the lobby to take the shuttle to the race. There is a long line. I wait an hour for a ride. I barely make it to the start line. I run the race. Its foggy. The course is crowded. I bonk between mile 9 and 10. I still finish with a personal best time. I go to mile marker 26. I wait for Bri. I take pics of random runners. Bri is here. I take some shots. I grab my stuff and make a run for the finish line. I past Bri. The crowd gets thick. I can't make it to the finish line. I meet Bri and her mom at the baggage check. We go to the beer garden. Beer hits us hard. We go to the bar Sharkeez. Jon and friends are there. We order a lava float. I get taken back to my hotel. I take a shower at Bri's hotel. We go eat some In-n-out burgers. We rejoin Jon and friends at Sharkeez. We watch the Superbowl. We have a lot of drinks. Bri must get drunk. Bri gets drunk. Pittsburg wins. We leave the bar and decide to go to Jon's place. Bri needs to walk. I pull the car over. We walk around a parking lot. We walk again. We keep walking. Bri start talking. I listen. We keep walking. We try to find a Del Taco. We keep walking. Bri keeps talking. I keep listening. Bri falls down. We go to a Carl's Jr. I sit down and eat. Bri walks around and eat. Bri steals a hoodie sweatshirt. We walk back to the car. We stop by In-n-out to bring back to Jon and friend. They're all ready for bed. I take Bri back to her hotel. I drive to Anahiem to check into my other hotel.

DAY 4
I have no internet in my room. Sad. I go meet Bri and her family at IHOP for brunch. We go to the beach. We walk. We lay. We wonder. We get some sun. We go back into town. Bri checks out some shops. Retail girl calls me nice guy. Ugh. I buy a t-shirt souviner. We go eat mexican. We go our separate ways. I go back to Anaheim. I go in the hot tub. I go relax. I go back to my room. I watch 24. My plane lands in Oakland. Flight attendant scares me by saying this is the last stop. I don't have transfer ticket. I freak out. I text Bri. She can't help me, she's at a doctors. Flight attendant corrects herself - plane will continue to Sea-tac. I'm relieved. I read more of my book. More exciting pages. I take deep breaths. Plane is loaded with passangers in Oakland. We continue to Seattle. A chinese girl sits next to me. We land in Sea-tac. I go to Shuttle Express for my ride home. I ordered a van. I get a towncar. Cool. Nacho is my driver. I get home in one piece. I read more of A Sport and a Pastime.
